Manitoba’s First Contribution to the ECP Newsletter

As Manitoba’s representative within Eldercare Planners of Canada, I am pleased to share our province’s first entry in this national newsletter. It is an honour to bring Manitoba’s voice, experience, and perspective to this growing community of professionals dedicated to improving the aging journey for Canadians.

At Pathways of Care Consulting, our work is grounded in the principle that aging in place is not defined by a single location it is defined by stability, dignity, and the right supports at the right time. For some Manitobans, aging in place means remaining safely at home with coordinated home care, family-managed supports, and community services. For others, it means transitioning into a unique environment that better meets their needs, such as assisted living, supportive housing, enhanced care, or memory care. In every case, the goal is the same: to ensure older adults maintain quality of life, autonomy, and connection.

Manitoba’s diverse geography urban, rural, northern, and Indigenous communities brings unique challenges and opportunities. Families consistently express the need for clearer pathways, earlier planning, and compassionate guidance as they navigate home care, transitions, and long-term care. Pathways of Care Consulting continues to support families through these complex decisions, ensuring they understand their options and feel confident in the choices they make.

This inaugural update marks the beginning of Manitoba’s ongoing participation in ECP’s national dialogue. I am deeply appreciative of the warm support, collaboration, and shared expertise within the Eldercare Planners of Canada group. Being part of this national community strengthens our collective ability to advocate, innovate, and elevate eldercare planning across the country.
